Our Purpose is to promote and protect the shooting sports and the lawful ownership and use of firearms as provided by the Second Amendment.
The Association has a number of functions which include: coordinating match schedules with various clubs, sanctioning state championship matches, monitoring and recommending legislation for protection, training and educational programs, and establishing a communication forum through newsletters and internet sites for individuals and groups. These activities are carried out by our affiliated clubs and individual members under the direction of our elected officer and board of directors. Directors are elected from ten geographical areas around the state and are from various shooting disciplines. Annual elections are held in March at the annual meeting of the State Association.
We encourage individuals and clubs to become members, and it is open to all West Virginia residents and clubs of good standing. Non-residents may be non-voting members, attend meetings and receive our newletters and information updates.
