White Horse Center uses both 3 and 4 relays in accordance with NRA rules. Squadding is available at 0700 on the date of each match. Each match will be fired in the order listed in each match program unless changes are necessary, and such changes will be posted at the bulletin board behind the 600 yard line and in the Statistical Office. On all matches using 4 relays, relays 3 and 4 will report to the pits first. For 3 relays, relay 3 will report to the pits first. For the Regional, pit changes will occur in accordance with NRA rules for Regional Tournaments. That is, each match will be completed before the next match is started. NRA rules will govern all matches held at the Center. Competitors must score and pull targets in accordance with NRA rule 10.5. Disabled competitors may bring their own target puller if they wish, and will be responsible for the conduct of the puller and operation of the target. Pit changes for Long Range events will be listed in the program. For those who wish to shoot Mid Range (600 yards) may enter one or more of the 600 yard matches held at the Center and fire these matches concurrent with the XTC match. Target pulling is a requirement....so plan accordingly. For mid range shooting, rifles may include F-Class or Any Rifle Iron Sights or Any Rifle Any Sight. Depending on the number of shooters, squadding may be in two, three, or four relays. No one will be turned away. Entry fee for shooting Mid Range only (concurrently with XTC match) is $10.00. F-Class rules: No more than two rests may be used and may not be attached by any means. Standard front rests with three spiked feet are approved. A sling may also be used in conjunction with the rests. No rear rest may be attached to the rifle. Caliber and weight restrictions shall be in accordance with NRA F-Class Rules. All F-Class competitors shall fire upon NRA approved MR-FC and LR-FC targets. Firing starts at 0800 for the WV State Championships, 0730 for the Freedom Group Classic Regional, and 0800 for all other Highpower matches, including warm up matches. For Long Range Matches, the course of fire is unlimited sighters and 20 shots for record, time limit 30 minutes. Any/iron on Saturday, any/any on Sunday (unless otherwise noted). F-Class shooters are encouraged to attend and participate in all mid and long range matches. Pistol Matches The Center will host a Bullseye Pistol 1800 point aggregate.(.22 and Centerfire) plus NMC revolver and NMC hardball. NRA rules will govern each event. Squadding is available at 0800 and firing starts at 0900 each day. Competitors will score, repair and/or replace targets during each match. Competitors are allowed to use overlays to determine shot value. Scoring plugs may be used by Match Officials only. Box 2091, Buckhannon, WV 26201 All Matches Cancellation of a Competitive Event: In the event that a competitive event is canceled due to inclement weather beyond our control (heavy rain or lightning storms) and the competitive event has already started, there will not be a refund of entry fees. In the event that a competitive shooting event is cancelled prior to the commence fire command, entry fees will be refunded in full. Matches not completed on the day scheduled may be continued on the following day if necessary due to unavoidable delays. The award schedule will be altered to suit. A late entry fee of $5.00 will be assessed to all walk-on entries the day of a match. Match Awards (Conventional Rifle/Conventional Pistol) Awards will be given to the Open Winner of each match, and one award for each 5 competitors or major fraction thereof in a particular class and category. Less than 5 competitors in a class and category will be combined into the next higher class, and the Open Winner eliminated in that class. Special category awards will be given for, high junior. Those competitors firing as Unclassified will compete in a special Unclassified class. Award Schedule: Awards will be for Match, 2nd, and 3rd places for all fired and aggregate high power and conventional pistol matches. Pit Operation: All competitors will operate targets in the pits. They will be assigned for this duty as well as for firing. It is each competitor's responsibility to do their pit duty. Paid pit pullers are allowed for disabled persons only. The substitute target puller must be presented to the Stat office for approval. The substitute must check in with the pit officer. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification from the matches and forfeiture of all fees and awards. Able bodied competitors must complete their pit duty. NRA Membership and Jury: Match officials are not permitted to participate in any NRA Registered match. Match Officials will appoint a jury prior to the beginning of firing in those tournaments requiring a jury. All sighting shots must be fired and scored. NRA classification cards must be presented at the Freedom Group Classic Regional and WV State Championship at the time of entry. Safety is First and Foremost: Strict adherence to range safety and commands is required at all times. Empty Chamber Indicators are required in all rifles while on the range, except while on the firing line. No parking is allowed on the firing line areas or slopes. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited on the ranges per NRA rule 9-27. Miscellaneous Information: Food and running water are not available on the ranges, except during the WV State High Power Championship and the Freedom Group Classic Regional. Teams may consist of two or four members. An alternate and non-firing captain and coach may also be named, or the captain and coach may be firing members of the team. A team captain MUST be named (NRA Rule 12.1). General Information: Shooters are encouraged to enter early as possible to assist the Statistical Office. Port-a-Pots will be provided for the Freedom Group Classic Regional and the WV State High Power Championships. Please fill in your entry cards carefully. Incomplete entry cards complicate the statistical tasks. All awards will be presented at the range as soon as possible upon completion of the match, and will be mailed for those with tight travel schedules. A Scoreboard will be located behind the 600-yard line and at the Statistical Office. Competitors are reminded that once a score card is signed and turned in, the score shown is accepted by the competitor as being correct. The Statistical office will make every attempt to find and correct errors, but cannot be held responsible in the event an error goes undetected. Once awards are given out, it is extremely difficult to rectify the error, so double check those score cards. Make sure you turn in your score card... forgetting this may result in disqualification of your score, loss of award or both. The Statistical Office is located in the Range office building. From the East - US Rt. 33 west from Elkins to Buckhannon, exit onto State Route 20 and turn right(north)...go 10 miles and turn onto the second Crouse Road...follow the signs. Note: Registration for any event held at White Horse Center starts now.
